Why assembly in Glendale is its own discipline
Wardrobes are needed here like nowhere else — and harder to anchor than anywhere else. The homes of Rossmoyne, Adams Hill and Verdugo Woodlands went up in the 1910s–30s, before built-in closets existed, so closet systems and big wardrobes are the city’s most common large order. But in those same homes the plaster hides lath, not drywall: anchors will not hold in it, and the mandatory wall anchoring goes only into a stud found with a detector. We arrive with hardware for both wall types.
The Verdugo slopes test every cabinet for level. In Chevy Chase Canyon and Glenoaks Canyon floors can slope up to half an inch across a wardrobe. A sliding wardrobe does not work on that floor: the doors roll on their own. A storage bed binds. We shim cabinets to level before the final tightening — included in the price, not an "extra".
Carry-in is two different stories. A 1960s dingbat with no elevator: the seven-foot rail box goes up on edge with two people. A high-rise by the Americana: we book the freight elevator and the loading slot with management ourselves — you only need to give the address.
How a visit goes
- We walk the carry route before opening any boxes.
- Assembly happens on padding; cabinets get shimmed to level.
- Everything tall is anchored to the wall (into studs in older homes) — no extra charge.
- Drawers and fronts are aligned to even gaps; every mechanism gets cycled.
- All the cardboard leaves with us.

Realistic and routine: we assemble, join the frames, and anchor into studs through the lath. It is our single most common order in old Glendale.

Order it — just tell us. Shims and a level solve it: the doors will stay where you leave them.
How long for a dresser? A wardrobe?
A dresser is 45–90 minutes, a two-door wardrobe 1.5–2 hours, a large closet system 2.5–3.5 hours with two people.
