Terms of Service
Effective date: August 10, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to all services booked through handymanbooknow.com (the "Site") and provided by HandymanBookNow, a service of Depo Group LLC ("we", "us"). By submitting a booking or request through the Site, you agree to these Terms.
1. What we do
We provide minor home services: flat-pack furniture assembly, TV mounting, hanging of pictures, mirrors and shelves, and small installations (blinds, curtain rods, closet systems, door hardware) in the Los Angeles area.
We are not a licensed contractor. In accordance with California law, we perform only jobs where the total cost of labor and materials is less than $500 per project. We do not perform electrical wiring, plumbing, structural or other work requiring a contractor’s license; where a job calls for one (for example, hard-wiring a motorized shade), we will tell you honestly and stop at the line the law draws.
2. Prices and quotes
Catalog services have flat per-item prices shown on the Site. The price you see when booking is the price you pay for that item — we do not bill by the hour and do not re-quote on site because a job ran long. Stated surcharges (for example, mounting into brick or concrete) are shown before you order.
The minimum order is $69. If the items in your order total less than that, a $30 trip fee applies to reach the minimum.
Items not in the catalog ("Something else") are quoted individually from your photos and description; the quoted price is confirmed with you before the visit.
3. Booking, rescheduling, cancellation
A booking becomes confirmed when we agree on the date and time window with you. You may reschedule or cancel free of charge with reasonable notice — we ask for at least 24 hours. If we cannot access the premises at the agreed time through no fault of ours, a trip fee of $30 may apply to a repeat visit.
4. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the job, the address and access (stairs, gates, elevators, building rules, quiet hours).
- Have the right to order work on the premises; for rentals, wall mounting is done on the understanding that you have your landlord’s permission where it is required.
- Tell us what you know about hidden utilities (wiring, pipes) in the walls where you ask us to drill.
- Have the furniture, parts and hardware available at the time of the visit; missing or factory-damaged parts are outside our control.
- Secure pets and keep the work area reasonably clear.
5. Our workmanship
We work carefully and to the practices described on the Site: anchoring tall furniture, torquing to specification, leveling, protecting floors and surfaces, and removing packaging. If something is wrong with our workmanship, tell us within 48 hours of the visit — we will return and correct it at no charge.
6. What we are not responsible for
- Manufacturer defects, missing parts, and the inherent quality or durability of furniture and materials you purchased.
- Pre-existing damage and conditions of the premises (settled floors, fragile plaster, prior failed mountings), which we will point out when we see them.
- Damage caused by hidden utilities that were not disclosed to us and could not be detected with standard instruments.
- Outcomes of use contrary to our instructions (for example, overloading shelves or removing anti-tip anchoring).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law.
7. Text messaging (SMS) program
By providing your phone number you agree that we may call or text you about your request and appointment. Messages are transactional and relate only to your own job: the price we quoted, the address, the appointment day and time, a reminder, and a confirmation when the master is on the way. We do not send unrelated marketing messages.
Message frequency varies by job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages; reply HELP for help, or call us at (213) 818-7858. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these Terms; the version in effect on your booking date applies to that booking.
