An art city hangs a lot — into very different walls
Long Beach is a city of artists, murals and the East Village galleries, and the walls here work: local painters’ canvases, vintage posters from Retro Row, people’s own pieces. Three wall types — three techniques:
- Loft brick. Art and shelves on anchors in the brick body (never the joint); heavy mirrors with the weight calculated. A brick wall and a large canvas are the best duet in town.
- Craftsman lath. Rose Park, Bluff Heights: studs only. Century plaster forgives no anchors — if a frame of yours has already fallen "with a piece of the wall", you know what we mean.
- Post-war drywall — quick and simple, hardware by weight.
Galleries: composition laid out on the floor, laser markup, even intervals. For artists and collectors: rehanging a show is also our work — fast and without extra holes.
Mirrors
Full-length — two people, into studs (into brick — anchors). The humid air near Belmont Shore and the canals eats cheap bathroom mirror hardware over time — we install stainless.
