When the piece costs more than the labor, the labor changes
Designer and made-to-order furniture is assembled by a different protocol, and it is second nature to us:
- Carry routes covered before the first box: cardboard and cloth along the path.
- Gloss and veneer in gloves; fasteners without impact tools.
- Damaged packaging photographed before opening — critical for a seller claim.
- The work zone prepared in advance: nothing assembled "on a knee".
- All cardboard and film leaves with us.
Wilshire condos take HOAs seriously: freight elevator by appointment and set work hours. We go through it regularly — name the building and the rest is our job. Trousdale means mid-century concrete walls: wardrobe anchoring into concrete, routine. South of Wilshire is ordinary apartments with ordinary orders — a dresser, a bed, a desk — at the same prices as everywhere.
Closet systems are the main large order: sections, soft-close hardware, lighting, leveling, anchoring. A big system takes 2.5–3.5 hours with two people.
