Burbank assembles fast — and we mean that as a compliment
The flat part of the city is single-story 1940s–50s ranches: no stairs, level floors, normal drywall. A dresser goes up in 45 minutes here, a bedroom in 2.5 hours — assembly without surprises, near the low end of the estimate. The exceptions we know by heart: pre-war Magnolia Park (lath — anchoring into studs) and Burbank Hills (slopes — leveling, and uphill carries with two people).
Three local genres
The contract move. A studio town lives by projects: new season, new apartment. We assemble "the apartment in one visit" after a move and disassemble before the next one — hardware into labeled bags, so the next build is not a quest.
ADUs and garage studios. Burbank is building backyard units fast, and not all furniture makes it inside: narrow doors, compact rooms. Send the opening width before you buy — we will say for free whether the sofa box enters and the wardrobe stands. A sofa return costs more than a measurement.
Vintage from Magnolia Blvd. The strip of vintage shops feeds us furniture without manuals: 1960s sideboards, disassembled beds with rare hardware. The "Something else" position: photo → price → careful assembly.
How a visit goes
- The carry route first, boxes opened second.
- Assembly on padding; cabinets leveled.
- Dressers, shelves, wardrobes — anchored to the wall at no extra charge.
- Mechanisms cycled, fronts aligned.
- Cardboard hauled away.
Frequently asked questions
A rental house, moving out in a year. Is anchoring the dresser worth it?
It is: two small strap holes against a real tip-over risk. Spackle at move-out and there is no trace.
A 300-square-foot ADU — I want a bed, a desk and a wardrobe.
Send a plan or photos with dimensions — we will build a configuration that fits. Possibly a Murphy bed instead of a regular one: we will measure the ceiling.
A flea-market sideboard, hardware in a baggie, no manual.
Magnolia’s favorite genre. Photos of the parts — and we quote.
