What we do in Culver City
The price is known before we leave the base. We do not bill by the hour and never re-quote on site because a job ran long. Minimum order $69.
The city of home offices
Sony Pictures, Culver Studios, HBO, Apple, TikTok — all within a couple of miles of each other, and Culver City lives on the industry: film and tech. For us that means one thing: the home office is the most common order in this city.
The typical setup we assemble here several times a week:
- A standing desk. Electric frame, top, controller. Two things we always do that DIY most often gets wrong: we check every screw’s length (the frame hardware goes into a ¾-inch top, and the face side is millimeters away from a through-hole), and we route the cables into the raceway before flipping the desk — otherwise the first lowering cycle shears a cord.
- An ergonomic chair — with the casters seated to the click (half-inserted ones pop out under load on day two).
- Monitor arms and shelves — into studs, with cable management.
After assembly we run the desk through a full up-down cycle and program the height presets. A desk that "jerks and beeps" is almost always a skipped initialization procedure, not a defect — we run it.
Moving every year or two? We know
The industry’s renters move often, and we assemble and disassemble with that in mind:
- TV and shelf mounting without traces: studs only, minimal holes; after move-out, a couple of neat spackle-ready holes — the deposit survives.
- Disassembly for the move: we take it apart, bag the hardware in labeled bags (that is what saves the next assembly), and rebuild at the new place.
- Dresser straps are mandatory in rentals too: two small screw holes are nothing next to a tip-over.
Ivy Station and the new complexes: measure first
The new buildings by the Metro E Line are handsome and compact. The floor plans are economical, and the sofa that looked great in the showroom may not make the turn into a studio’s hallway. Before buying anything large, send the door width, hallway width and a photo of the turn: we will tell you for free whether the box fits and whether the assembled piece will stand.
Loading in these complexes follows building rules: freight elevator, a time window. We confirm it when you book and arrive in the agreed slot.
And for those living car-free (the Metro is steps away — here that is real): the furniture arrives by delivery, we assemble everything in one visit and take all the cardboard away. In a compact apartment, a mountain of boxes is not a small thing.
The old center: bungalows with character
The Spanish bungalows of the 1920s–30s around downtown and Carlson Park are small, loved by their owners, and hide lath behind the plaster. A plastic anchor is not long for that wall: everything wall-mounted goes only into detector-found studs. Elsewhere — Sunkist Park, Blair Hills — the post-war ranches have standard drywall, and everything is quick.

Frequently asked questions
My self-assembled standing desk moves in jerks. Can you fix it?
Most likely the initialization was skipped. We will come, check the wiring, run a full cycle and program the presets.
The landlord is strict about the walls. How will you mount the TV?
Into studs, one precise drill per fixing point. After removal — spackle-ready holes, not craters.
A studio in Ivy Station — I worry the sofa will not fit.
Send the door and hallway width with a photo — we will answer before you buy.
Will you assemble and take the boxes? I have no car.
Yes, packaging removal is always included.
How long does an office setup take?
Standing desk plus chair plus monitor arm — usually 1.5–2 hours in one visit.
