In the epicenter of ’94, a TV hangs — it does not stand
A panel on a console is the first thing to fly in a jolt. A panel on the wall, in studs, on a rated bracket at correct torque, rides out the shaking as designed. In Northridge that difference needs no explaining: the city saw it with its own eyes.
Our mounting runs seismic logic by default:
- Anchoring into two or three studs (not "one is holding fine").
- A bracket rated to the panel with a margin.
- For tilt-and-swivel arms — the lock verified: an extended arm works as a lever in a jolt.
The city’s walls: post-war ranches with standard drywall — an hour’s mounting. Student apartments by CSUN are rentals: minimal holes, studs, spackle at move-out; moving by semesters — down and up again in one trip.
