Assembly by the ocean — three local rules
Rule 1: delivery plus assembly equals turnkey. Many people in Santa Monica live car-free, and the furniture arrives by courier in boxes with nowhere to go afterward. Our format: everything assembled in one visit and all the cardboard hauled away — included, not an option.
Rule 2: outdoor means stainless only. The view balcony is a local apartment’s main asset, and the balcony set is the most Santa Monica order there is. Salt air eats black hardware in a season: we check the kit, swap the weak parts for stainless, and torque without galling the threads — so next year the furniture can be taken apart, not cut apart.
Rule 3: compact wins. Courtyard apartments of the 1920s–40s are small with narrow doors. We check dimensions before you buy (a photo of the opening plus box sizes — a free yes/no), and we assemble Murphy beds and convertibles — for a studio by the beach a wall bed often makes more sense than a regular one. We will measure the ceiling: a Murphy needs 94 inches and up.
Carry-in: courtyard buildings mean outdoor stairs and no elevator — two people, routine. New Downtown complexes mean the freight elevator by building rules — we arrange it. And tell us where to park: parking here is a quest, and your hint saves half an hour.
How a visit goes
- We park by your hint; the carry route comes before opening any boxes.
- Assembly on padding; cabinets leveled.
- Everything tall anchored to the wall (into studs in old walls), no extra charge.
- Outdoor pieces — stainless hardware and correct torque.
- All the cardboard leaves with us.
Frequently asked questions
I live car-free and the furniture is arriving by delivery. Will you take the boxes?
Yes, always — it is in the price. The cardboard mountain leaves with us.
A 320-square-foot studio — thinking about a Murphy bed.
The right thought for Santa Monica. We measure the ceiling and wall and say which model fits. Assembly includes stud anchoring.
My second balcony set — rust ate the first one.
The coast’s classic. We assemble on stainless and show you what to rinse and retighten. It will live longer.
