Century windows get hand measurement; ranches get the standard
The old town: Craftsman casement windows measured at three points each (no two identical), mounting into the wood of the frame or a stud, blinds inside the opening — the handmade casings stay visible. Single-pane glass: cellular shades add insulation.
The East Whittier ranches: standard openings — three windows per visit.
Kids’ rooms — blackout plus cordless; the hills — cellular shades on west windows, and non-standard panorama widths measured with panels suggested.
Storage and doors
Closet systems: the closets of century homes are tiny, and a wall system solves it; into lath — anchoring only into studs, our specialty.
Doors — up to three per visit at one price: Uptown’s century doors adjusted with the original hardware preserved (1910s brass rebuilt and kept in service), settled ranch doors — hinges and strike.
