Uptown and the old blocks are Craftsman lath: anchors fly out with the plaster, so we mount only into detector-found studs (we know how to read a detector on century-old plaster). Fireplace living rooms get an honest verdict on "above the fireplace"; brick means masonry anchors, +$40.
East Whittier and the post-war blocks are standard drywall: an hour, and the panel hangs. For families — a panel on the wall cannot tip; we strap the console free.
The hills: we carry the panel up as a pair, and in "drifted" houses the horizon comes from the level, not the ceiling.
